In case you are wondering, listed here are steps to see if your laptop has precision touchpad support.

Unlike that old Windows without any proper touchpad drivers, the new Windows 10 has precision drivers out of the box. Precision drives provide superior functionality while being deeply integrated into Windows 10. Compared to the older touchpads, a precision touchpad is precise and simple to make use of. The gesture support is particularly seamless and leagues above the older generation.

Although the precision drivers are awesome out of the box, to make use of those drivers you need to have a precision touchpad. Without a precision touchpad, Windows will default to generic touchpad drivers. In addition to that, more often than not, you are instructed to install the touchpad drivers supplied by laptops manufacturer to get extended functionality like gesture support.

Generally, most contemporary Windows 10 laptops are suitable for precision drivers. This is especially true for laptops with glass surface touchpads. That being said, if you're unsure whether your laptop includes a precision touchpad or otherwise, you should check it through the Windows 10 Settings app.

Within this simple guide, let me show the best way to see if your laptop has a precision touchpad.

How to Check Precision Touchpad Support on Windows 10

You'll find if your laptop includes a precision touchpad or not from the Settings app itself. Here's how.

Open the Settings app.
Click on the "Devices" option.
Select "Touchpad" around the sidebar.
You will see "Your PC has a precision touchpad" on the right page in case your laptop has a precision touchpad.

Detailed Steps

1. As mentioned before, you can check precision touchpad support from the Settings app. So, open the Settings app by searching for it within the Start menu. Alternatively, press the "Win + I" keyboard shortcut to spread out it.

2. The touchpad settings will be found on the Device page. So, click the "Devices" option within the Settings app.

3. On the sidebar, click on the "Touchpad" option. This is where you'll find all the details about your laptop's touchpad and its various settings. For example, you can change touchpad sensitivity, modify three-finger tap to middle click, etc from this page.

4. If your laptop has a precision touchpad, you will notice the "Your PC includes a precision touchpad" message at the top. If you do not see this message, it means that you only have a regular touchpad and you'll avoid seeing any advanced options like precision gestures, etc.

That is all. It is that easy to check on for precision touchpad support on a Windows 10 laptop.

Important Note: Do remember that even if you have a precision touchpad, you'll need precision drivers to use all of the features of it. The good thing is, it's not necessary to be worried about the drivers because Windows 10 will download them for you personally automatically. If needed, you are able to download them directly from the laptop manufacturer's website too.

Google Chrome allows you to export saved passwords in CSV format. Here're the steps you should follow to export Chrome passwords.

The Chrome browser provides a basic password manager with an autofill service that's linked and synced to your Google account. One of the best reasons for the Google Chrome password is its integration with the Android mobile. So long as you are signed in with exactly the same Google account, all your passwords will be ready to use. Not to mention, the auto sign-in feature readily available for both Chrome and Android is pretty useful along with a godsend in a lot of ways. Actually, a number of my friends and family members only ever make use of the Chrome password manager for this reason alone. So long as you don't mind lacking advanced features provided by a dedicated password manager like Lastpass, the default Google Password Manager is pretty good.

That being said, if you are not satisfied with the Chrome password manager or you just want to create an additional backup of Chrome passwords, you can export Chrome passwords.

In this simple and quick guide, let me show the steps to follow along with to export Chrome passwords to a CSV file in Windows 10.

Steps to Export Chrome Passwords

Google Chrome gives you the option to export passwords from the Settings page. These are the steps you should follow.

First, open the Chrome browser. You do that from the Start menu or by double-clicking around the desktop shortcut.
Click around the Menu icon (three vertical dots) around the top-right corner.
Select "Settings" in the list of options.
Click on the "Passwords" option under the "Autofill" section in the Settings page.
Now, click on the "Overflow" icon (three vertical dots) appearing right on the surface of the passwords list.
Choose the "Export Passwords" option.
Click on the "Export Passwords" button around the pop-up screen.
Like a security measure, Chrome will ask for authentication. Authenticate yourself with Windows password, pin, fingerprint, or face unlock to carry on.
Choose a save location, name the file, and click on the "Save" button.
You are now able to close the Settings tab.

That is all. Using the above steps, you've successfully exported Chrome passwords to a CSV file in Windows.

Wrapping Up

Since almost every password manager supports CSV data format, you can easily migrate. If you do migrate to a different password manager, delete Chrome passwords so you don't have to cope with duplicates.

After you are done with the Chrome password backup, be certain that you're not sharing the file with anyone. Since the passwords within the CSV file are in plain text, you can now see them should they have access to the file. So, when you are done using it, delete it permanently (shift + del) to ensure that no one can obtain hand on it.

With respect to the option you select within the reset prompt, Windows 10 has the capacity to reset laptop computer without loss of data. As possible guess, the resetting feature is plenty useful in a lot of situations as it removes the necessity to completely reinstall Windows 10.

As good as the 'Reset this PC' feature is, with a recent update, Microsoft introduced a new bug in Windows 10 in which the system won't reset regardless of how perhaps you try. Whenever a user clicks the Reset this PC button, the machine just restarts or freezes in position. Obviously, the reset bug is only present on systems with certain hardware configurations. Since it is an essential feature for many users, Microsoft devised a simple workaround to repair the problem until the new update arrives by having an actual fix.

Thankfully, this workaround is fairly well-known and works pretty much. In case your computer is not able to reset, you could make use of this fix the reset bug to resolve the unable to reset Windows 10 problem. So, without further ado, allow me to show you the steps to repair the reset bug in Windows 10.

Steps to Fix Reset Bug & Solve Unable to Reset Problem

To repair the Windows 10 reset bug, you need to execute the DISM restore health command. Here are the precise steps you need to follow to do that.

Type "Command Prompt".
Right-click on "Command Prompt" and choose the "Run as administrator" option. This can open a heightened Command Prompt window.

Once you execute the command, the DISM command will scan the Windows 10 system and proceeds to restore its health should there be any faults or bugs. The entire process will take sometime to accomplish. So, sit back and wait till it's complete. Also, I recommend you stay connected to the internet while running the scan. Google Chrome is appropriate the world's number one browser, and third-party statistics claim its market share is near to 70 percent around the desktop.

However, this doesn't necessarily mean that things are running just flawlessly with Chrome on the desktop, yet Bing is very dedicated to further refining the knowledge and improving the existing integration with operating systems.

And the Windows version of Chrome could soon get more polished support for antivirus software, as Google really wants to lessen the time it takes to perform certain actions, for example downloading, when security programs running on Windows are involved.

Solution already found

Theoretically, whenever you conduct a task in Google Chrome that involves storing data on your device, the Windows antivirus needs to scan the information to make sure it's entirely clean. Which is what's causing some problems in Google Chrome, because the whole process might actually trigger a brief lock on these files, eventually making the browser feel like it's lagging.

"Anti-virus programs and other scanners may briefly lock new files be responsible for frequent problems with saving bookmarks and other files that use the ImportantFileWriter. The race condition between closing the temporary file and moving it gets hit regularly on some system," a Google engineering says inside a Chromium Gerrit post spotted by WL.

And also the Chrome team is considered to have found a solution, as they proposed a brand new approach that would "deal with this particular by retrying the racy ReplaceFile step several times. This is only done on Windows because that is hoped to be the only real place where it takes place."

Obviously, it remains seen how everything will run when these under-the-hood Chrome improvements go live for everybody, however in the long run, it's clear Google wants its browser to play nice with the Windows 10 antivirus too.

In the personalization options in the Settings app, you can remove the Recently Added section within the Windows 10 Start menu. This is how.

Whenever you install a program or add something to the Start menu folder, that application or file shortcut can look in the Recently Added list. By default, the Recently Added section can look at the top of the Start menu. i.e, over the general app list. For example, if you install the Chrome browser, the Google Chrome application can look in the Recently Added list combined with the general application list. Generally, the recently added list will not be more than four or five items long. Because most people need to open the newly installed applications right away, the Recently Added list is quite useful. It eliminates the necessity to look for newly installed applications or their deep buried shortcuts.

Though the Recently Added list is pretty useful in a lot of situations if you wish to better organize the beginning menu, you can completely remove the Recently Added section or list from the Start menu.

Without further ado, allow me to show the steps to fully remove the Recently Added list in the Windows 10 Start menu.

Steps to Remove Recently Added List from Start Menu

You are able to disable the Recently Added list from the Start menu personalization page in the Settings app. Just switch off the "Show recently added apps" and you're simply done. Here're the exact and detailed steps on where to find the choice in the Settings app.

First, open the beginning menu.It can be done by pressing the beginning key on the keyboard.
Click on the Settings icon appearing to the left side of the Start menu.
Click on the "Personalization" option in the Settings app.
Now, select "Start menu" tab in the left panel.
On the right page, switch off "Show recently added apps" option.
Close the Settings app.

That is all. As soon as you switch off the choice, the Recently Added list will be taken off the Start menu. In the future, you will no longer begin to see the newly installed application shortcuts towards the top of the beginning menu's app list. However, you may still access the install applications by trying to find them within the Start menu or by studying the application list in the Start menu.

If you are still seeing the current Apps list, the alterations might not be applied to the Start menu. In those cases, either restart explorer or restart the machine to use the alterations. To restart the machine, right-click on the Start menu and select the "Shut down → Restart" option.

Should you ever wish to enable the Recently Added list, simply stick to the same steps but switch on the "Show recently added apps" option in step 5. When you do that, the list should appear in the Start menu immediately.

That's all.

Apple launched the very first M1-powered Macs earlier this week, and as the world's number 1 software company, Microsoft really wants to be among the first to aid the brand new Apple Silicon.

Now, the Redmond-based software giant announced a testing build of Microsoft Office that's optimized for that new M1 chips, that is pretty much the initial step towards full support for that productivity suite on Apple's new generation of devices.

Microsoft's principal software engineer for Apple products, Erik Schwiebert, explained on Twitter the company doesn't yet possess a specific launch date in mind for the production version of Office for M1-powered Macs.

Testing build already live, no ETA for the production channel

However, there's without doubt Microsoft really wants to make the event happen as fast as possible, especially because the MacBook Air, the 13-inch MacBook Pro, and the Mac mini, all running on Apple Silicon, are projected to hit the shelves on November 17, as per Apple's announcement the 2009 week.

"MSFT plans to push a Universal build of Mac Office 2019 towards the Beta Channel (formerly "Insider Fast") after today. We don't possess a public date or version for any final release; it is really an initial peek for customers to check on hardware they might be acquiring this week," Schwiebert said.

Obviously, it won't take very long before Office goes love Apple Silicon, only that Microsoft still must wait a bit more to prepare the productivity suite for this chip. The company must receive more feedback in the first customers who purchase M1-powered devices and just then provide the go-ahead with this update for everyone else.

Apple is also projected to release macOS Big Sur later today, and Microsoft Office already fully supports this new operating system.
