Windows 10 already comes with advanced antivirus protection, as Windows Defender (now called Microsoft Defender) is provided pre-loaded around the operating-system, but because we know already, many people still would rather use third-party products for many reasons.

And of course, among the leading names in the cybersecurity world, Bitdefender is truly the preferred option for plenty of Windows 10 users.

However, many of those running Windows 10 Insider builds and Bitdefender antivirus on their own computers recently came across that managed to get impossible to continue running the operating system. Also it was all because explorer.exe was crashing repeatedly, in some instances resulting in a black screen that required a forced reboot.

The fix is part of the latest Windows Insider build

Manually restarting explorer.exe made no difference, but removing the Bitdefender software brought things normal again, although it goes without saying this wasn't necessarily the best way to go for those who desired to keep their antivirus protection on constantly.

The latest Windows 10 preview build finally resolves everything, with Microsoft explaining that users need to install the most recent form of the Bitdefender security software to get the patch.

"An issue continues to be fixed where devices with Bitdefender installed experienced a black screen and/or explorer.exe crashes. Resolving the problem requires an update towards the Bitdefender software," the company explains in the release notes from the latest preview build.

The fix was announced with the discharge of Windows 10 21332, that can bring several other notable changes, such as the elimination of Paint 3D and 3D Viewer as pre-installed apps on the operating-system. Microsoft says these would no longer be offered as pre-loaded, with users permitted to set them up on their own computers from the Microsoft Store just like any other Windows 10 app.

Getting 0x80d02002 error while installing Windows 10 updates? Follow these easy steps to quickly fix the 0x80d02002 error in Windows 10.

For many Windows 10 users, the 0x80d02002 error is among the most common errors. You will generally begin to see the 0x80d02002 error while trying to use a feature update via Windows Update. Due to some configuration changes or corrupted component files or incompatible software, Windows is going to be not able to install the feature update and throws the 0x80d02002 error. This error can be displayed even when your computer is fully suitable for the feature update itself.

For instance, if the SoftwareDistribution files are corrupted, Windows may be not able to work with them. This can in turn cause the error. Moreover, some incompatible software like VPNs or antivirus software might also block the feature update inducing the 0x80d02002 error. Thankfully, it is pretty simple to fix the 0x80d02002 error. You can either need to delete the old component store files, change region settings, or uninstall incompatible software.

In this simple and quick guide, let me show you the different steps to quickly fix the 0x80d02002 error and proceed with installing the Windows 10 feature update.

1. Reset Update Component Files

To repair the 0x80d02002 error, we need to reset the Windows Update component files. To be more specific, we need to reset the SoftwareDistribution and catroot2 folders. It is pretty simple to do in the Windows command line. Stick to the steps below.

Open the beginning menu.
Search for Command Prompt.
Right-click on "Command Prompt."
Select the "Run as administrator" option.
Type the below commands one after other.
net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old
net start wuauserv
net start cryptSvc
net start bits
net start msiserver
Close the Command Prompt window.

In case you wondering, the above commands are really quite simple anyway. First, we're stopping various Windows update services. Next, we're renaming the SoftwareDistribution and catroot2 folders. After that, we are restarting the stopped Windows update services. Since we renamed the default Windows update component folders, it'll automatically create new ones. This will effectively reset the Windows update components.

2. Change region settings

Sometimes, having your system configured towards the wrong country can also cause the 0x80d02002 error. This is because the update might be incompatible using the current country settings. There are a number of reasons for this. So, should you or some other program has changed the nation settings, revert it well. To achieve that, open the Settings app, go to the "Time & Language -> Region" and choose your country from the "Country or region" dropdown menu.

3. Uninstall incompatible software

More often than not, incompatible software is really a primary reason for the 0x80d02002 error. To fix it, you need to uninstall all incompatible software. Thankfully, Windows 10 Feature Update installation process can automatically uninstall incompatible software. However, certain antivirus, VPN, and firewall software are notoriously difficult to automatically uninstall due to their protection system.

In those cases, I recommend you manually uninstall antivirus and any type of other security or network software after which proceed. If the real problem is incompatible security or other network-related software, this course of action should fix the 0x80d02002 error.

That is all. It's that simple to repair 0x80d02002 error in Windows 10.

Need to customize the time and date settings in Windows 10? It is pretty easy. Adopt these measures to alter time and date in Windows 10.

When you initially install Windows 10, it automatically sets the date and time depending on your location. Windows gets this location data either from you entering it while installing or in the GPS data it gets using the location permission. Typically, the default setting is fairly good and shows the right time. Actually, a vast majority of users will never need to touch the time and date settings. It simply works.

However, there might be instances when you need to alter the time and date in Windows 10. Some of these situations include although not limited to Windows showing the incorrect time, wrong starting time and date format, 12-hour or 24-hour clock, wrong geolocation, etc.

No matter the reason, if you wish to customize the time and date settings, it is simple to get it done from the Windows Settings app itself. Within this simple and quick guide, allow me to show the steps on how to change the date and time in Windows 10.

Change date and time in Windows 10

The new Windows 10 settings app has the choice to alter the date and time. You just need to visit the "Date & Time" page, turn off the "Set time automatically" option and change the time and date settings. Here's how.

1. Open the Settings application in Windows 10. You can do that by pressing the "Start key + I" shortcut or by clicking on the "All Settings" button in the Action Center.

2. Visit the "Time & Language → Date & Time" page. This is when you are able to alter the date and time in Windows 10.

3. Switch off the "Set time automatically" option. Without turning off this option, you can't perform the required changes.

4. Click the "Change" button underneath the "Set the time and date manually" option.

5. Set the time and date using the dropdown menu. Click on the "Change" button to save the alterations.

6. Close the settings app.

That is all. With this, you have successfully changed the time and date in Windows 10.

Keep in mind that should you switch on the "Set time automatically" option, Windows might change the time according to the moment zone. If you think time zone is not current, stick to the below section to change the time zone in Windows 10.

Change time zone in Windows 10

To alter time zone in Windows 10, follow these steps.

Open settings.
Go towards the "Time & Language → Date & Time" page.
Turn from the "Set time zone automatically" option.
Select time zone from the "Time zone" dropdown menu.
Close the Settings app.

That's it. With this, you have changed the time zone in Windows 10. Much like using the time and date, if you turn on the "Set time zone automatically" option, Windows might change the time zone towards the previous one. If you don't want that happening, change the "Country or region" setting to point for your current country. That way, Windows 10 can automatically set the correct time zone.

Microsoft announced two upcoming versions of Office, one designed for consumers and something aimed at commercial businesses. For consumers, Microsoft will release Office 2021 by the end of the entire year. Microsoft also announced a variant from the Office Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) designed for businesses that need a static version of Office.

Office 2021 is really a form of the Office suite that doesn't require a Microsoft 365 subscription. Similar to Office 2019, it's built for people and smaller businesses that want to use Office try not to desire a Microsoft 365 subscription.

Office 2021 will be supported for five years and is a one-time purchase. Microsoft doesn't plan to change its pricing compared to Office 2019. A brief FAQ in the post announcing Office 2021 also states that it'll be on Windows and macOS which may have 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

There exists a post comparing Office 2019 vs. Office 365 that explains the main difference between Microsoft's different versions of Office. Many of the points in that post also will apply to Office 2021.

We do not be aware of features and changes that will arrive with Office 2021, so we'll need to watch for additional information from Microsoft. The Verge points out that Office LTSC will include such things as dark mode support, accessibility improvements, and other features. It adds that Office 2021 for consumers will have similar additions.

Office LTSC is for another use case than Office 2021. Microsoft explains that Office LTSC is perfect for "regulated devices that cannot accept feature updates for years at a time, process control devices on the manufacturing floor that aren't connected to the internet, and specialty systems that must stay locked in some time and require a long-term servicing channel."

Microsoft expects businesses to make use of Office LTSC in specific scenarios rather than rolling it across an entire organization.

Microsoft's Jared Spataro, head of Microsoft 365, told The Verge, "We certainly have a large amount of customers that have gone to live in the cloud during the last 10 months, that's happened en masse really. At the same time, we definitely have customers who have specific scenarios where they don't seem like they can proceed to the cloud."

Office LTSC will be supported for five years going forward, that is two fewer than what Microsoft provided previously.
