Using the Task Scheduler, you can schedule Windows restart or reboot in a few clicks. Here's the step-by-step guide on Windows scheduled restart.

Should you run the body everyday, to be able to restart on schedule is extremely useful. When running the pc all day long, it's highly entirely possible that you will see performance degradation over time because of a variety of reasons such as the number of running applications, clutter, temp files, etc. In those cases, restarting the system occasionally can help run the system smoothly. For instance, you can configure Windows to restart automatically at nighttime to install updates. That way, you don't have to be worried about abrupt restart or remembering to restart the machine outside active hours.

So, within this quick and simple guide, let me show the steps to make use of the task scheduler to restart Windows computer automatically at particular times.

Note: Together with Windows 10, the steps shown below works in Windows 7 and Windows 8.

Steps to Schedule Restart Windows

To restart Windows automatically, we are able to use the task scheduler. So, stick to the steps the following to schedule restart Windows.

Press the Windows answer to open the Start menu.
Type "Task Scheduler" towards the bottom search field.
Click on the "Task Scheduler" result in the Start menu.
After opening the job scheduler, click the "Create task" option.
Type a reputation within the Name field. The name could be anything you want. Just make sure it is descriptive.
Visit the "Triggers" tab and click on "New" to produce a new trigger.
Select "On a schedule" from the first drop-down menu.
Select "Daily" radio option and set the time you want.
To recur every day, type "1" in the "Recur every" field.
Click "Ok".
Go to the "Actions" tab and click on "New".
Select "Start a program" from the first dropdown menu.
Type "%SystemRoot%\system32\shutdown.exe" within the Program/Script field.
Type "-r -f -t 10" within the arguments field.
Click "Ok".
(Optional) Visit the "Conditions" tab and select the "Start the task only if the computer is idle" checkbox. That way, the machine will only restart if it is idle. i.e, not doing anything. Click "Ok".
You will see the new task in the task scheduler.

That is it. You've made a scheduled task to automatically restart Windows. From now on, Windows will reboot itself according to the task configuration. Right before restarting, it'll show just a little message giving any active users an opportunity to save the job.

As you can tell, it's pretty easy to perform a scheduled restart while using task scheduler tool in Windows. If you wish to, you may also display a popup message using a task scheduler right before restarting the machine.

Disable Automatic Restart

Whenever you no longer require the scheduled restart task, you are able to disable it to avoid an automatic restart. To achieve that, discover the task in the task scheduler, right-click on it and choose the "Disable" option. Should you actually want to, you can delete the task by choosing the "Delete" option.

Back in October 2014 when it launched the Windows Insider program, Microsoft promised the way forward for Windows could be entirely decided by users, who have been invited to sign up in the development of the operating-system by testing preview builds, sending feedback, and sharing their suggestions.

To streamline the connection between the company and users, Microsoft launched the Insider Hub for Windows Insiders, an application whose purpose was to allow testers to send feedback inside a more effective manner.

The app eventually became the Feedback Hub in May 2016, just ahead of the debut from the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, with Microsoft also opening it to everyone.

Starting with this transformation, pretty much anyone running Windows 10 can send feedback to the company while using Feedback Hub.

Needless to say, Microsoft has insisted for Windows 10 users to always turn to the Feedback Hub whenever they had a break through for that operating system or they came across something they deemed must be improved. Whether or not Microsoft used this feedback to improve Windows 10 is something that's totally debatable, but on the other hand, there have been times when the organization actually made people believe reporting bugs was just a waste of time.

In 2018, Microsoft launched the Windows 10 October 2018 Update with a glitch that caused removing files kept in libraries. While this wasn't an extensive problem, it forced Microsoft to pull the feature update completely, simply to be discovered that several users reported it within the Feedback Hub months before the go-ahead was given.

So technically, users told Microsoft about this issue, that the organization missed it.

Recently, users learned that the Feedback Hub has become the home of political trolls and spammers, with a few of the posts being there for over a month. For whatever reason, nobody at Microsoft removed these abusive posts, so that as you can see within the screenshot here, the Feedback Hub can barely be considered a platform for sharing feedback at this time.

Given all of these, the criticism against Microsoft and the way it handles feedback is gaining traction. Does Microsoft even worry about feedback? This is the question that a lot of users ask nowadays, obviously with no answer that may convince them sending feedback continues to be well worth the effort.

As the Feedback Hub seems a flop, I think Microsoft can continue to save it. And here are the 3 changes the company should implement as quickly as possible to prioritize high-quality submissions:

Introduce an upvote/downvote feature for feedback. The Feedback Hub already allows users to upvote certain ideas, but on the other hand, downvoting isn't possible. A reddit-like approach will make it easier for high-quality submissions to become prioritized, while things like spam and redundant posts would just disappear considerably faster.

Hire a dedicated team to keep things organized. Removing spam and posts that don't make sense at all, grouping submissions in collections, and overall taking care of the Feedback Hub much like it takes place on an online community is one thing which should take place in this app too. The Feedback Hub is just too important for the future of Windows to depart spam inside for Thirty days without anyone caring about it.

Share more information about what's happening with the feedback. Every submission (or collection) should get a response in the dev team, and Microsoft should clearly indicate what it's working on and just what it intends to do with the feedback in the long term. An example of methods this could work is the Waze feedback forum (hosted on UserVoice), in which the Google-owned team marks submissions with a series of tags like planned, within the works, or released. Microsoft is applying exactly the same platform for many of their products, including OneDrive.

After the day, the Feedback Hub isn't whatsoever an awful idea, it's just poorly implemented and barely taken care of. Using the right improvements, it may end up being the app that can allow users to bring about the introduction of Windows, much like Microsoft promised in the first place. Of course, if the company really likes you feedback.

If you're not keen on the default font in Windows 10, Segoe, you can change it out for your preferred font with a simple registry tweak. This will alter the fonts for Windows 10's icons, menus, title bar text, File Explorer, and more.

First we'll back up your registry settings, so that you can reverse the changes in case you don't like them later. Then we'll simply update the registry having a .reg file.

1. Press Win+R.

2. Type in regedit and press Enter.

3. Visit File > Export… to save the registry file somewhere in your hard disk.

4. Open Notepad and copy and paste the following into it:

Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts]
"Segoe UI (TrueType)"=""
"Segoe UI (TrueType)"=""
"Segoe UI Black (TrueType)"=""
"Segoe UI Black Italic (TrueType)"=""
"Segoe UI Bold (TrueType)"=""
"Segoe UI Bold Italic (TrueType)"=""
"Segoe UI Historic (TrueType)"=""
"Segoe UI Italic (TrueType)"=""
"Segoe UI Light (TrueType)"=""
"Segoe UI Light Italic (TrueType)"=""
"Segoe UI Semibold (TrueType)"=""
"Segoe UI Semibold Italic (TrueType)"=""
"Segoe UI Semilight (TrueType)"=""
"Segoe UI Semilight Italic (TrueType)"=""

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes]
"Segoe UI"="Verdana"

Replace Verdana within the last line with the name of the font you want to use as your system default. You might have to spread out your Fonts folder (search for "fonts" within the Windows taskbar) to obtain the full, correct name of the font.

5. Click File > Save.

6. Change the "Save as" type to "All Files."

7. Within the File name field, give the file a .reg extension. You can name it anything, so long as it ends in .reg.

8. Click Save.

9. Double-click the registry file you simply created to run it. You'll be prompted to allow the file to create changes to the computer and ensure you need to continue, then get confirmation the alterations were successfully made.

10. Restart your pc to see the font change applied across Windows 10.

Just don't change the default font to something similar to Wingdings, lest you render your system completely unreadable.

Microsoft includes a new light way of people who aren't ready to join the negative side. Dark mode continues to be extremely popular recently, but not everyone is a fan of the inky interface. For all those folks, the May 2019 update introduces a brand new light theme to Windows 10 that brightens up the operating system.

The brand new light mode will be the default search for Windows 10, replacing a UI that featured several dark elements, including the taskbar. Now Windows 10 will have a consistent transparent white appearance across all menus and apps.

Of course, if you like darker tones you can still follow this guide to allow Dark Mode. And you can also enable Dark Mode in Chrome if you are using Google's browser. If you'd prefer to produce your own theme, be sure to check out this breakdown of how you can do so. You can also install third-party themes in the Windows Store or make less dramatic changes towards the Windows 10 UI by customizing your desktop background.

With that said, here are some easy steps regarding how to enable light mode in Windows 10.

How to enable light theme in Windows 10

1. Press the beginning menu in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

2. Select the settings gear icon.

3. Select Personalization from the Windows settings screen.

4. Press on Colors in the left-hand sidebar.

5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select "Light" in the drop-down menu.

Do your documents and files need better organization? Group related files into distinct folders on your laptop or desktop and you will always locate fairly easily what you need. You may also change the icon size to really make it more visually pleasing. Here are a few methods to quickly produce a new folder in Windows 10, after you master this, learn how to password protect a folder in Windows 10.

Method 1: Create a New Folder with a Keyboard Shortcut

The fastest way to create a new folder in Windows is by using the CTRL+Shift+N shortcut.

1. Navigate to the location where you want to create the folder. You may create a brand new folder at any location in your hard disk or within another folder (developing a subfolder) in File Explorer. You may also create a new folder on your hard drive with this method.

2. Hold on the Ctrl, Shift, and N keys at the same time. Windows will immediately create the new folder with the not-very-imaginative suggested folder name of "New folder."

3. Enter your desired folder name. It requires just seconds to create a new folder by doing this, but make sure to immediately begin typing your folder name once the folder first appears, because if clicking around the folder or look away from File Explorer, the folder name is going to be "New folder" and you'll have to rename it.

Method 2: Produce a New Folder by Right-Clicking

If you do not recall the keyboard shortcut or you prefer while using mouse:

1. Navigate to the location in which you want to create the folder.

2. Right-click on the blank space in the folder location. Be mindful with this particular: If you right-click on an existing item in the folder, you'll get the incorrect menu.

3. Select New then Folder in the contextual menu. Windows will create the brand new folder at your current location.

4. Enter your required folder name to replace "New folder" and hit Enter.

You can create folders around the Desktop that way too. Right-click on the blank space on the Desktop, then go to New > Folder.

Method 3: Create a New Folder from the Ribbon Menu

Another simple method to produce a new folder is by using the brand new folder button in the File Explorer menu.

As well as the methods above, you may create a brand new folder in Windows 10 by using the Command Prompt (navigate to the location you want your folder in and kind mkdir foldername, replacing "foldername" with your folder name). These 3 methods, however, would be the simplest and quickest methods to create a new folder, to get right to organizing your files.

Microsoft is considered to become focusing on a bunch of refinements for the Windows 10 Start menu, and also the company itself teases this small update every so often.

Recently, the company published what seem to screenshots with its refined Start menu on Facebook, once again with no ETA as to whenever we might get our hands on it.

For the time being, however, each one of these teasers seem to suggest that we're set for only a minor makeover from the Start menu, and when anything, we might get refreshed icons and small changes to the live tiles.

But an idea published on Twitter by vGLAD pushes things even more, imagining a much more modern version of the beginning menu.

Modern design indeed

While I won't talk too much by what your eyes can easily see, worth highlighting is the new live tile design, which seems to merge the beginning menu look a lot more seamlessly. And without a doubt, this Windows 10X-inspired Start menu would really take advantage of the new icon pack that Microsoft has debuted, so overall, it's one modern bit of technology that Windows 10 deserves.

Microsoft, however, still remains tight-lipped on this refreshed version of the Start menu. Even though the first teaser was published months ago, nobody knows without a doubt when it could go love users.

The following Windows 10 feature update is due within the fall as version 20H2, while the next big release is scheduled to occur in the spring of 2021.

For the moment, however, no such change is happening within the preview builds of Windows 10 within the Windows Insider Program, so only Microsoft may be the one that knows when the updated Start menu is supposed to land for users in a stable build of the OS.
