Microsoft has completely transformed its desktop operating system with the launch of Windows 10 and Windows 11, and needless to say, the switch to a modern approach wasn't necessarily everybody's cup of tea.
Many threatened having a switch to Linux, others decided to stick to older versions of Windows. But after the day, the field of Windows just is growing and growing, and now Microsoft says its operating system happens to be running on no less than 1.4 million devices out there.
The company says PCs are once more a key part of everybody's life, especially because the work from home concept has become crucial in the final couple of years.
"Windows now powers over 1.4 billion monthly active devices with overall time spent on Windows up 10% over pre pandemic levels. This quarter, Windows took share as through our customer insights research, we had nearly 50% development in individuals who plan to use their PC for creativity, gaming or work. We continue to see people across organizations, schools and houses recognize the advantages of your personal computer for every person," the organization says.
Big bet on Windows 11
Microsoft has also reiterated its investments in Windows 11, the brand new operating-system whose adoption is already going strong, based on Microsoft.
"Since the launch of Windows 11 in October, we view strong demand and preference for Windows 11 with individuals accepting the upgrade offer to Windows 11 at twice the speed we saw for Windows 10," the Redmond-based software giant said.
The rollout of Windows 11 continues as we speak, but based on Microsoft's own schedule, it's designed to ended by mid-2022. This means all eligible devices ought to be supplied with the update to Windows 11 within the next couple of months, because the rollout has entered the final stages.
