Microsoft has announced the News and Interests go through the company continues to be testing for many months within the Windows Insider program is now readily available for the very first wave of production devices.

In other words, the brand new taskbar widget that shows the elements and expands to display news, articles, traffic information, along with other information is no more an insider-exclusive feature, but everyone can have it so long as they're running Windows 10.

The brand new feature is available included in the optional Windows 10 April 2021 cumulative update, and Microsoft says everyone can get it when the next Patch Tuesday rollout kicks off in May.

"News and interests around the Windows taskbar will begin rolling out to customers within the next weeks. We are taking a phased and measured approach and broad availability will occur in the approaching months," the company explains.

Obviously, the brand new feature includes all of the goodies which have been tested in the last preview builds within the Windows Insider program, including several customization options that permit it to better align with your expectations.

"You can adjust which information cards are as part of your experience and just how weather updates are displayed. The elements can be shown as an icon with text or being an icon only when you need to save taskbar space. You can also adjust which information cards - weather, finance, sports, traffic - are included, ensuring you are just seeing content you care about. Obviously, if you're not thinking about any of these details you can just switch off the icon," Microsoft explains.

Keep in mind that the rollout takes place gradually, so few people installing the April 2021 preview cumulative updates would view it. However, I expected the rollout to advance quite fast, so expect everybody so that you can try out the taskbar widget rather sooner than later.
